The main purpose of the project was to provide free legal and psychological support to the victims of gender based violence such as sexual harassment, acid throwing and domestic violence etc..

Project Objectives:

To Provide free legal and psychological support to GBV Victims;
To register the cases of domestic violence and provide them protection.
Project Brief:

The project was closely linked with the mandate of the organization. In this project the victims of gender based violence were provided support through referral systems for physical treatments, legal, psychological support and shelter. A series of awareness raising sessions were also conducted for the victims if gender based violence for their counseling and the registration process of their cases. Moreover Da Hawwa Lur also signed MOUs with “Noor Trust”, a non-profit organization which working for the protection of victims of gender based violence through counseling and providing shelter. Da Hawwa Lur through that MOU referred several victims of gender based violence to Noor Education Trust.

Moreover Da Hawwa Lur has also signed MOU with Sawera, a non-profit organization working for the women empowerment in rural areas of KP. The MOU refers to the mutual partnership for the protection of gender based violence in two union councils of Peshawar.

The process of protecting the GBV victims and providing them with services is the basic aim of Da Hawwa Lur. In 2015 Da Hawwa Lur registered 6 cases of gender based violence formally, which included sexual harassment, domestic violence and acid throwing.  While several minor cases of sexual harassment were tackled informally. 3 of the cases were successfully resolved with the help of referral partners and volunteer lawyers. These GBV survivors are now an inspiration for other women and are leading as source of awareness for their own communities.
